"Make changes on the inside that will improve your life on the outside"

Are you struggling with behaviors that aren’t working for you such as eating and body image problems; trying to control others; trying to be perfect; anger, meanness or aggression toward others; problems with alcohol, drugs, gambling, spending or sex?
Do you have self-defeating patterns like choosing unavailable partners, avoiding problems that only get worse, letting others control you, playing it safe and selling yourself short?
Are you emotionally “shut-down” or worried your heart is closed even with people you love? Do you keep people at a distance?
Do your emotions feel like unpredictable weather events frequently overwhelming you with anger, sadness or fear?

Have you experienced trauma or abuse that, despite many attempts to leave it behind, continues to affect you, your relationships or your family?

Do you find yourself unable to achieve goals that matter to you or to even know what you really want?
Are you going through challenging life circumstances—illness, divorce, death, transitioning into adulthood, adjusting to marriage, becoming a parent, having a challenging or special needs child, infertility, career change, job loss, empty nest, or caring for elderly parents?
Are you surprised your life is turning out differently than you thought it would?

Norwalk Counseling, Therapist and Psychotherapist in Norwalk, Westport, and Wilton, CT, Connecticut - Gina M. Troisi, MA, LPC

Over the past 40 years researchers have tried to determine what kind of psychotherapy really works. Many studies show the degree of success of one technique or another, but the single most reliable predictor of success in psychotherapy is “a therapeutic relationship.”

This is the foundation of my approach—creating a safe and supportive relationship where you can feel me with you every step of the way. With a blend of compassion, humor, dedication and wisdom, I aim to develop a respectful collaboration that is nurturing, challenging and promotes change.

I offer individual, couples and family counseling as well as individual or group supervision for clinicians. This work is usually done in person, but can also be done by phone and via the internet depending on the circumstances.

Whether you struggle with traditionally defined symptoms like anxiety, depression, PTSD or bipolarity, or you experience conflict within yourself or your relationships, I can help you make changes on the inside that will improve your life on the outside!
